So once, again, America and its mass media have fallen for another
hoax: the Tanya Harding scandal, the product of some CBS marketer's
twisted imagination as he was driven to desperate depths by the
endless ratings race.  I'm sure the cooperation of the CBS news studio
was a big help.  Of course, now that it has gone so far no-one could
possibly admit the truth...

  And so for the next two weeks, if you are foolish enough to watch
the Winter Olympics on CBS, you will get to watch what the mass media
has decided is the most important story in America, Tonya vs. Nancy.
No doubt the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, "one of America's finest
newspapers", will be displaying this crucial news story on its front
page too.
